************************************

NOTE: All of the tracks done under the SAFER Barrier Project are distinguished by having a "_nextel" extension on the end of the track name. This way you will know that all the tracks with this extentsion are multiplayer compatible. If for some reason, you have compatibility issues, either the track you downloaded, or the track located on the server you're trying to connect to is not a genuine SAFER Barrier Project track.
************************************

[1] IMPORTANT -- BEFORE YOU INSTALL!!!
====================================

Because this track is more than a cosmetic update, and Sandbox was used in order to add new textures and 3d shapes, this track is not multiplayer compatible with the original Papyrus tracks.
This track is, however multiplayer compatible with exact copies of itself. YOUR SERVER MUST BE HOSTING THIS EXACT TRACK <phoenix_night_nextel> IN ORDER FOR YOU TO USE IT IN ONLINE PLAY.

[2] HOW TO INSTALL THE TRACK
====================================

After downloading the Phoenix_Night.exe file from the website, simply run the installer and follow the prompts. The installer will automatically place the track into the NASCAR Racing 2003 Season\tracks directory by default.

The installer also includes a series_flagger.mip that will be placed into the NASCAR Racing 2003 Season\objs folder.

[3] FEATURES
====================================
This track update was based on information from the 2005 Subway Fresh 500 spring race. It is also needed to make clear that the DEFAULT PAPYRUS PHOENIX TRACK was used as the base for this update, with that in mind, here is a list of the things that have been updated to the Phoenix International Raceway track for NR2003 :

1) SAFER Barriers have been installed on the walls in the appropriate areas with proper signage on them (The way the cars react when hitting the walls have been adjusted!!)

2) Many textures have been updated, such as the track and outfield terrain to enhance realism.

3) The protruding wall that existed in turn 3 and the "kink" has been removed and new asphalt applied to that area.

4) An asphalt patch has been applied in the exit of turn 4 where the tunnel is installed. The area has been also made "bumpy" to simulate a slight imperfection in track smoothness.

5) The Goodyear bridge in turn 4 has been removed.

6) Openings to infield retaining walls have been applied allowing limited access to infield, particularly victory lane!!

7) Many new additional objects have been applied throughout the track to enhance realism, such as proper mapping of mountain-side billboards and all new lighting.

8) The new turn 1 grandstand,as of 2006, has been installed!!!

9) Lines have been applied to outline pitboxes.

10) Cones have been added to entrance & exit of pit roads.

11) Union 76 logos and signage have been changed over to Sunoco as well as the Winston Cup logos to Nextel.

12) Other billboards and signage have been updated accordingly to reflect appropriate sponsors.

13) All new cameras have been applied.

14) The way the aircraft (i.e. blimp, helicopters) fly in the air have been editted.

THIS VERSION IS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS. OTHER UPDATES WILL BE MADE WHEN APPROPRIATE.

[4] KNOWN ISSUES
====================================

No known bugs.

Users on lower-end video cards or processors may experience a hit in frame rates due to the large amount of textures included in this track.

Multiplayer compatible ONLY with other unmodified copies of "phoenix_night_nextel" (See topic # 1 in this ReadMe).

[6] CREDITS
====================================

First off I would like give a HUGE THANKS to Papyrus for creating the most kick@#$ racing simulation out there!!

A BIG thanks to Denis Rioux for teaching me how to better my 3do editting and creation skills. Without that help, updating this track, and successive tracks, with such accuracy could not have been possible.

I also would like to give special thanks to the developers of Project Wildfire for the Sandbox utility, without it the updates to the tracks could not be possible.

Also a special thanks to the creator of the WinMip2 utility, again, without it the updates could not be possible.

And to all of those who submitted information towards the updates that are just to HUGE to mention, THANKS
